About Melinda
Helping you to grow professionally
After 30 + years working as a clinician, trainer & program coordinator, & 20 years as a clinical supervisor, I specialise in providing trauma informed supervision & leadership & workplace consultancy for social workers, mental health practitioners & lawyers who work with distressed clients.
From my school years, when I first learned about the Holocaust and the impact of the Vietnam War, I became fascinated by how humans survive tragedy and keep going. That curiosity has stayed with me throughout my career — from my first role supporting war veterans in an acute mental health hospital, to counselling refugees & asylum seekers, defence personnel, police & couples. I have often asked myself: What fosters growth and hope?
Over the years, working in mental health and trauma settings, I have reflected on how we can best care for ourselves whilst doing this work & how organisations can foster more effective work environments. Helping professionals develop practice skills & thrive, even in challenging circumstances, motivates my work with you.
I look forward to learning about your career journey, your current work priorities and where you want to go next.
