About Melinda

From my early high school years, when I first learned about the Holocaust and the impact of the Vietnam War on people and soldiers, I became fascinated by how humans survive tragedy and keep going. That curiosity has stayed with me throughout my career — from my first role supporting war veterans in an acute mental health hospital, to working with refugees & asylum seekers, defence personnel, and police. I have often asked myself: What fosters growth and hope?

Over the years, working in mental health and trauma settings, my focus broadened. I became deeply interested not just in how we support clients, but in how professionals can care for themselves while doing this work with organisational support. Helping professionals develop practice skills & thrive, even in difficult circumstances, has remained at the heart of what I do.

Throughout my career as a clinician, clinical supervisor, couple therapist, manager, project manager, caseworker, trainer and leadership coach, I usually believed that whatever role I was in was the best in the organisation, and I now feel the same about my work as a clinical supervisor and coach.

I look forward to learning about your career journey and where you want to go next.
